Transmission 113: Earthlings laugh
Part nine of the Earthling code.

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -
The Earthling Code carries on.
Not rules. Not instructions. Just truths worth passing down.
If someone light-years away ever asks what it felt like to be human to be from this wild and wondrous planet I hope they find this.
Today is number nine.
The code (so far):
1. Earthlings are
2. Earthlings wonder
3. Earthlings care
4. Earthlings dare
5. Earthlings create
6. Earthlings grow
7. Earthlings belong
8. Earthlings tend

Earthlings laugh.
You find joy in strange places.
You tell jokes at funerals.
You find humour in randomness. (6/7 anyone?)
You laugh through heartbreak.
You giggle when you’re nervous.
You make faces at babies just to hear their joy.
You carry lightness even when the world feels heavy.
Laugh.
Spread joy.
Don’t take things so seriously.

Today, seek out the silly.
Listen to your favourite stand-up comic.
Watch a comedy that never fails to make you laugh.
Tell someone your go-to joke, or call your dad and ask for one.
If something tense or unexpected happens today,
pause.
Then look for the humour in it.
Laughter is contagious.
Laughter is medicine.
Let it lighten the load.

Dad Jokes.
So embarrassing. So necessary.
They’re pun-laced, groan-inducing,
and delivered with the confidence of a king.
Their power lies not in cleverness
but in the relentless commitment to the bit.
One day, you will miss them.
Or worse… tell your own.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
