Transmission 112: Earthlings tend
Part eight of the Earthling code.

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -
We are in the middle of a 10-day transmission of the Earthling Code.
Not commandments.
Not laws.
Just quiet truths, written in case someone out there ever needs them.
If a descendant in some distant galaxy ever wonders what it meant to be human
what it meant to come from Earth
this is what I hope they find.
Today is number eight.
The code (so far):
1. Earthlings are
2. Earthlings wonder
3. Earthlings care
4. Earthlings dare
5. Earthlings create
6. Earthlings grow
7. Earthlings belong

Earthlings tend.
You pay attention to what matters.
You care for what you can reach.
You act gently in the moment you’re in.
Share what helps.
Be the person you once needed.
Care for what’s here, now.

There’s a reason the final step in many recovery journeys is to help someone else.
In Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 12 is about service.
It reads: “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps,
we tried to carry this message to alcoholics,
and to practice these principles in all our affairs.”
It’s not just a nice gesture.
It’s essential.
You help someone else because it reminds you where you came from.
Because it keeps what you’ve learned front of mind.
Because it gives your pain a purpose.
Teaching, guiding, mentoring, these are not acts of superiority.
They are acts of tending.
Tending to others.
Tending to your past self.
Tending to the world you’ll leave behind.
You’ve learned a lot.
Maybe the hard way.
Share it.
Your scars become maps.
Your lessons become lanterns.
There’s someone a few steps behind you.
Help them find the path.

The beaten path.
Yes, you’re told to blaze your own trail.
To go where no one has gone.
But sometimes?
It’s okay to follow.
To walk where others have walked.
To see what they saw.
To find what they found worth sharing.
A well-worn path through the trees
is a kind of invitation.
A reminder that someone thought
this route was beautiful enough
to mark for others.
And now it’s your turn
to take it in.
To leave it just as lovely.
Maybe even a little better.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
