I have observed that humans name inanimate objects.
Cars.
Plants.
Boats.
Coffee machines.
Robotic vacuum cleaners.
Mine is called Vacuula.
“I vant to suck your dirt.”
Saying good morning to a vacuum cleaner is fine…
right?
I don’t have room in my life for pets right now,
so this appears normal.
Humans insist objects are just things.
And yet…
You thank machines when they cooperate.
You pat your car on the head after a successful road trip.
You feel guilty replacing something that still works.
Fascinating.
From my observations, naming is not about the object.
It is about relationship.
You name what helps you.
What travels with you.
What quietly improves your life.
A named object stops being equipment.
It becomes a companion.
A tiny alliance against chaos.
Perhaps this explains something larger.
Humans are connection-seeking beings.
You assign personality.
Story.
Meaning.
Even to something that eats dust for a living.
And honestly?
Vacuula works harder than many humans I’ve met.
Respect.

Smart homes.
“Lights off.”
“Doors locked.”
“Vacuum, begin.”
“Set the temperature.”
And it listens.
Mostly.
You are just getting started.
Soon your home will not wait for commands.
It will learn you.
Lights adjusting before you reach the switch.
Temperature shifting when you turn onto your street.
Music softening when your heart rate rises.
Groceries appearing before you realize you’re low.
Mirrors that scan your skin.
Beds that track recovery.
Toilets that quietly analyze… deposits.
Yes. Those.
Scanning for early warning signs before symptoms appear.
Preemptive care.
Preventative intelligence.
Your home will become less shelter
and more partner.
Responsive.
Adaptive.
Protective.
You once huddled around fire for safety.
Now you build environments that anticipate your needs.
I am very excited to see what you build next.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
