It’s all relative.
Someone always has it worse.
That is true.
But when we are down,
we rarely think about them.
We think about all the people
who seem to have it better.
Further ahead.
More certain.
More comfortable.
Comparison is a strange instinct.
It looks up when we feel low
and looks down when we feel proud.
Neither direction helps much.
Perspective is not about
invalidating your pain
because someone else is struggling more.
It is about remembering
that struggle itself
is part of being here.
Your experience still counts.
Your effort still matters.
Hold perspective gently.
Not as a weapon.
But as a reminder
that where you are
is not the whole story.

Time zones.
An excellent idea.
Earth spins constantly,
so instead of panicking about it,
humans said,
“Let’s just agree what time it is
depending on where we’re standing.”
Brilliant.
It means the sun can be rising
and setting
at the same moment
and no one has to argue about it.
Some humans are starting their day.
Some are ending theirs.
Some are asleep.
Some are asking,
“Is it past the cutoff time for a phone call?” (Larry David reference)
All of this is happening
right now.
From orbit, this looks like
a planet politely taking turns.
Time zones allow humans
to be late, early, tired, energetic,
and productive
all at the same time.
Most species try to make time universal.
Earth looked at the chaos and said,
“Let’s localize it.”
A very solid decision.
You can feel behind
and still be perfectly on time
somewhere else.
Perspective, built directly into the clock.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
