Transmission 167: Simple choices

Release the need to control.

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -

When you feel on the edge of chaos,
when a downward spiral feels
just one bad thought away,

this is not the moment
for dramatic change.

Big moves come later.

Right now, the work is smaller.

Chaos rarely arrives all at once.
It creeps in.
Through too many choices.
Through the urge to fix everything.
Through tightening your grip
on outcomes you cannot control.

So adjust early.

Make one small correction.
Not the perfect one.
Just the next reasonable one.

Then simplify.

Fewer decisions.
Less noise.
One clear action
instead of ten imagined ones.

And release the need
to control how it all turns out.

Control creates tension.
Tension creates cracks.

Effort still matters.
Direction still matters.
But outcomes do not need your hands
wrapped around them.

Small corrections.
Simple choices.
Less control.

That is how stability returns
before chaos takes over.

Dimmer switches.

Earth once decided
that lights should not be either
interrogation room
or
existential cave.

Wouldn’t it be nice
if humans came with dimmer switches too?

Just a small dial for emotions.

A gentle slider to slow down the hamster wheel of thoughts
running full blast through the brain.

Too anxious?
Dial it down a notch.

Feeling negative?
Add a little brightness.

Low energy?
No need to shut the system down.
Just adjust.

Most human moments
don’t require extremes.
They require regulation.

The technology does not exist yet.
But the idea does.

Small adjustments.
Less intensity.
Same room.

And you’re the one in control.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.

Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.

If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.

If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.

Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
