Transmission 166: Stand steady

Let fear pass through you.

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -

“Do not let fear touch you.
Fear is the torrent.
The raging river.

To fight it is to break and drown.
But to stand astride it
is to see it, feel it,
and use its course for your own whims.”

That comes from the Red Rising book series,
but its roots are much closer to Earth than Mars.

This is Tao thinking.

Do not resist the river.
Do not curse it.
Do not pretend it isn’t there.

Step into it with awareness.

Fear is not the enemy.
Fear is energy.

When you fight it,
it throws you off balance.
When you deny it,
it controls you anyway.

But when you observe it,
when you stand calmly within it,
it becomes information.

Direction.

Momentum.

The river was never trying to drown you.
It was trying to move you.

Stand steady.
Let fear pass through you.
Then decide where you want to go.

- - - - - EARTH TREASURE - - - - -

Geothermal power.

Earth is so hot right now.
(Read that in your best Mugatu voice).
But I don’t mean metaphorically.
Actually hot.

Some very smart humans thought,
“We can use this”

So you drill down.
Deep enough to reach hot water or steam.
The steam spins a thing.
The spinning thing makes electricity.

That’s it.
That’s the technology.

You are literally using
the planet’s internal warmth
to keep the lights on.

No fuel trucks.
No burning.
Just Earth doing what it has always done,
and humans politely tapping the shoulder
and asking for a little help.

A reminder that curiosity,
when pointed in the right direction,
turns problems into power.

Well done, Earth.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.

Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.

If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.

If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.

Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
