Transmission 138: Winter is coming

Be prepared and meet it head on.

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -

A winter storm is coming.

Last year was a rough one.
Snow piled higher than my courage. And garage.
Drifts swallowing the porch.
A wind so cold it felt like the sky was
telling me to give up and go hibernate.

This year I’m prepared.
Salt? Ready.
Shovel? Ready.
Boots? Ready.
Mind? Ready.

Tonight I will go to bed early
because digging out the driveway
adds an hour of work before you even start your day.

A chore, yes.
But also a workout.
A strange Earth ritual of strength and sweat
delivered directly to your front steps.

I am choosing not to dread it.
I am choosing to meet it.

Because every difficult situation
has two paths.

You can whine.
You can curse the sky.
You can list every reason this is unfair.

Or
you can prepare,
take a breath,
step outside,
and turn a problem into momentum.
Into a bonus workout.

A storm becomes movement.
Cold becomes focus.
A burden becomes pride.

This is my lesson for today
and perhaps for you too:

When something hard is coming,
prepare your space.
Prepare your tools.
Prepare your mind.
Give yourself the advantage
before the challenge arrives.

You cannot stop the snow, Earthling.
But you can decide who you will be
when it lands.

- - - - - EARTH TREASURE - - - - -

Winter rabbits.

On Earth, some creatures change their colour
without even trying.
In summer they are brown as soil.
In winter they become white as snowfall.
A quiet seasonal magic trick.

I can change my appearance too,
though not nearly as gracefully.
Mine involves concentration,
a mirror,
and at least three attempts
to get the eyebrows right.

But rabbits?
They simply wake up one day
and match the world perfectly.

A small winter wonder,
reminding me that adaptation
is not just survival.
It can be beautiful.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.

Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.

If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.

If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.

Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
