Transmission 137: Project Hail Mary
This one is an easy yes.

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -
I just finished a human book called Project Hail Mary.
Don’t worry, no spoilers.
It is fast.
It is clever.
It is joyful in all the ways science can be joyful.
And it understands something important about humans:
you are at your best when you are problem-solving
with hope in your pocket
and disaster breathing down your neck.
It is written by the same human who made The Martian.
He seems to enjoy putting your species in terrible situations
and then watching you improvise your way out.
Even with everything I know about space,
I had fun the whole time.
If you need a winter read,
or a great gift for the curious human in your orbit,
this one is an easy yes.
Adventure. Heart.
Big ideas wrapped in a sci-fi shell.
Soon to be movie starring Ryan Gosling.
Read it first if you can.
There is something special about meeting a story on the page
before you see it on the big screen.
The book usually wins,
but the movie is still a fun second pass through the universe.

Bookstores.
One of Earth’s most magical portals.
A place where entire universes
sit patiently on shelves,
waiting to be chosen.
Every story is a seed.
Some grow into films,
some stay tucked in pages,
but the spell is the same.
A single book can change the way you see everything.
A small treasure.
Made of paper.
And possibility.

Instead of a poll today, I have a question for you:
What are your favourite movies that originated as books?

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
