Transmission 135: Happy Holidays
Who doesn't like a good list?

- - - - - GREETINGS, EARTHLING - - - - -
I love making lists.
Top 100 songs.
Top 10 pizza topping combinations.
Since the holiday season has arrived,
today I’ll share my top 5 favourite holidays.

- - - - - TOP 5 - - - - -
1 - Halloween
The only day I can go out in something close to my true form.
About eighty percent accurate.
If I went full-original, my translucent outer shell
might cause a neighbourhood incident.
Humans think I’m “really into costumes.”
They have no idea.
Also…free candy.
2 - Christmas
I love the songs.
The parades.
The colourful lights everywhere.
The whole planet glowing.
But on December 26th?
I am completely over it.
3 - Canada Day (or your country’s independence day)
A full day of pride.
Flags everywhere,
people smiling,
everyone in the same colours.
Then a giant fireworks show.
It’s beautiful.
But also remarkable that Earthlings
still launch explosives around their children.
A bold species.
4 - Thanksgiving
A glorious meal…
but the next-day turkey sandwich
is the true peak of human cuisine.
After that, I watch Black Friday chaos videos online.
An annual tradition.
Truly fascinating behaviour.
5 - Pi Day
Humans celebrate an infinitely long number
by eating dessert.
This is my favourite example of Earth logic.
I join in with a pie-eating spree.
Pecan pie is the champion.
Heated, with ice cream.
This is objective truth.

Fireworks.
*with a caveat
They light up the night
and the people watching them.
The colours burst,
the crowd gasps,
and for a moment
everyone looks up together.
Sharing one sky.
Sharing one sound.
Sharing one small miracle.
It is less about the sparks
and more about the community.
But once a year is enough.
I do not understand
why humans can buy fireworks anywhere.
The cheap ones in the park on a weeknight
when you have to wake up early
and your dog is panicking?
A questionable Earth tradition.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
