Transmission 127: Be kind

Kindness is contagious.

Today, I continue the story about my first week on Earth.

I hope you’re enjoying it!

- - - - - PART 3/5 - - - - -

My manual said:
“Caution: humans rely heavily on invisible signals.”

So the next morning, I decided to master invisible signals.
To begin, I greeted a passing human by turning invisible.
She shrieked and ran directly into a garbage bin.

Not literally invisible then, I noted.

Perhaps, I thought, humans use stealth frequencies.

I stared at a passing woman to test the theory.
She stared back, alarmed.

Invisible, indeed.

I spent most of the morning experimenting.
Extended eye contact.
Excessive nodding.
Mirroring body posture.
Mirroring the words they used.

None of it went well.

Apparently, invisible signals work best when they are subtle.
I was not.

By afternoon I had made several notes in my manual:
1 - Personal space exists.
2 - Humans dislike uninvited touching.
3 - Do not laugh until they do.
4 - Do not assume Earthings want to share their food with you.

I sat on a bench to rest and studied the crowd.
Their eyes,
their hands,
their tone of voice,
everything was a signal.

Some happy,
some nervous,
some hungry,
some pretending.

It was fascinating.

That is when a small child appeared beside me.
She handed me a sticker that said BE KIND.
Then, before I could ask what it meant, she was gone.

The child had given me a visible sticker,
with an invisible feeling attached to it.

I felt good.
It really hit me.
I now had a hypothesis.

Maybe being human is about connections,
visible or not.
Literal or not.

About support,
and help,
and motivation,
positivity,
and love.
About making other people feel good.
About being kind.

I needed more research.

Today, be kind.

In your heart,
and in your mind.

In the car.
in the grocery store,
at the office,
online.

To strangers.
To acquaintances.
To family.
To yourself.

Your kindness is contagious.
You never know who might need some.

Leftovers.

Not just the cooking needs to be skipped,
no dishes too.
What a double win.

Sometimes leftovers are even better than the original.

When I’m smart,
I make enough for a lunch and another dinner.
Yesterday I was smart.

Can you tell it’s time for my Earth snack?

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.

Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.

If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.

If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.

Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
