Transmission 062: There's no place like home
To love your living capsule, leave it and return.

* * * I had some technical difficulties with the transmission machine. I had it set to SEND ONLY. If you sent in some questions or comments for the new Thursday AMA format, they were obliterated in the clouds. We’ll have to try again next week…weather permitting 🙂 So… if there’s anything you’d like to ask NeilA (advice, questions about their life or the universe, or anything at all), just reply to this email. It might work this time! ✌️👽

I once asked a traveller what their favourite destination was.
They said, “Home. But only after I left it for a while.”
It reminded me of an old saying from my quadrant:
“To love your living capsule, leave it and return.”
Appreciate your home ecosystem today. Its wildlife, its sidewalks, its strange local birds and better-than-you-remembered bakeries.
This is your spot on the planet. Let yourself love it.

Sometimes, Earthlings dream of faraway beaches or distant cities, but forget to notice the beauty of their own little patch of planet.
Today’s mission: appreciate where you are.
Go for a short walk. Look at the trees. Smell the mid-summer air. Wave at someone.
You don’t need to “get away” to feel alive. Sometimes your own neighbourhood is the best adventure. It might make home feel more like home.

Front porches.
A strange architectural invention.
Too small to live on. Too exposed to nap on.
Yet somehow, the perfect place for coffee, secrets or watching squirrels act nuts.
Or reading alien transmissions…
It’s the one place you can sit, do absolutely nothing, and still feel like you’re participating in society.

Float well, Earthling.

Greetings, Earthling is a free daily newsletter designed to help you slow down, feel better, and start your mornings with a sense of meaning. Written from the perspective of a curious space observer named NeilA, each transmission blends mindfulness, motivation, and emotional insight with a hint of cosmic wonder.
Inspired by Stoic philosophy, Tao, Alan Watts, behavioural science, and the strange beauty of being human, these messages offer gentle reminders to live with purpose, pay attention, and appreciate the little things. Part alien wisdom, part self-help, part poetic dispatch, it’s a daily pick-me-up disguised as a transmission from the stars.
If you’re looking for a mindful routine, a feel-good newsletter, or thoughtful guidance that fits in your inbox, you’re in the right place. This is for anyone who wants to be more present, more kind, and more connected to yourself, to others, and to the universe around you.
If this helped, pass it along. Or send them here. Signals get stronger when more receivers are tuned in.
Thank you for reading. Your presence means more than you know.
